Prism has been selected for design-assist electrical contractor services for the First Baptist Church of Odessa project. Designed by The Beck Group, the project will add 67,000 SF to the church campus and includes a new sanctuary space.
The existing worship area will be restructured as a wedding/funeral chapel. The new sanctuary will offer theater-style, terraced seating that curves around the main stage. With seating for 1,500, the new sanctuary reflects First Baptist Odessa’s recent growth.
The project features use of the latest in audio/visual technology and theatrical equipment. The stage will serve as the pastor pulpit and the setting for the church’s musical and dramatic productions. Projection screens measuring 22 feet by 14 feet tall flank either side of the stage.
The project also provides a large gathering space behind the sanctuary for use outside of Sunday worship. A cafe area will be included within this gathering space. The new building connects to the existing Family Life Center through an indoor courtyard.
