Overview
This project is an addition and renovation for the new 308,000 sf UNT University Union Building. The existing facility was completely gutted leaving only the structure such as concrete columns, beams, and floors. The scope of work included providing a new chiller in the existing Central Plant to accommodate the HVAC requirements for the enlarged building. This facility includes a new full service kitchen, dining area, Lyceum, bookstore, office areas, meeting rooms, conference rooms, corridors, telecommunications rooms, mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, chilled water HVAC system, displacement HVAC system, conventional overhead VAV system, active chilled beams, energy recovery chiller, hydronic heating system, building automation system (BAS), 15 kV primary electrical service, 15 kV electrical switchgear, pad-mounted transformers, 277 / 480 V electrical distribution, emergency generator mounted in exterior weatherproof enclosure, grounding system, lightning protection system, lighting fixtures, lighting control system, dimming system, fire alarm system, fire sprinkler system, etc.
