Overview

The Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center is a 48,000-square-foot, two-story advanced veterinary specialty hospital featuring some of the most sophisticated medical infrastructure in Texas. This adaptive reuse project transformed an aging commercial shell into a state-of-the-art facility housing emergency care, surgery, radiology, neurology, and interventional procedures with electrical demands comparable to human healthcare facilities. The project’s complexity included a two-story Linac bunker with specialized radiation shielding, advanced imaging equipment integration, and highly coordinated operating rooms. Through aggressive BIM coordination, prefabrication strategies, and precision Trimble layout, Prism Electric delivered millimeter-accurate installations in extremely congested spaces while meeting a firm occupancy deadline. The LEED-certified facility features programmable wayfinding lighting, custom architectural elements, and 24/7 emergency power systems.
