Overview

This project sits on a green field site at the Hwy 183 Toll Road and Avery Ranch Blvd. The new hospital is comprised of a new 141,000 square foot hospital. The hospital offers services including: 36 Universal beds; 4 O.R.’s (2 Equipped); 2 Endoscopy; 2 Minor Procedure Rooms; 20 ED positions (16 Room, 2 dual-occupancy major rooms); Diagnostic Imaging (2 X-Ray/ 1 Fluoroscopy/ 2 Ultrasound/ 1 CT/ 1 MRI); Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Speech Therapy; and Sleep Therapy.

The total normal power design load for the new hospital is estimated to be 2300 kW at 480Y/277V, 3-phase, 4-wire based on a design demand of 18 watts per square foot. An additional future load of 2000 kW is included within the normal power service to support the future hospital expansion.

Each generator will supply power directly to synchronization and paralleling switchgear rated at 3000A, 480 volts, bussed in a split bus arrangement with the generator breakers on either end of the gear and output (distribution) sections in the center. The paralleling switchgear will include full digital controls and be equipped with controls for automatic load shedding and re-adding of equipment based on priority levels. The paralleling switchgear shall have a solid bus 100% rated, draw out power circuit breakers for each generator feed, each with full solid-state generator protection relaying.

The project is seeking LEED GOLD certification.
